BEST SALAD SPINNERS: 2-WAY TIE...Get a Grip The design of the lid was one factor that made some spinners easier to use than others. The rapid spinning of the inner basket and resulting centrifugal force create quite a bit of vibration, so all the spinners but one have to be held down with your free hand to keep them from dancing right across the counter.
The exception to this rule, and the real standout in terms of design and ease of use, was the OXO. You can actually use the OXO with only one hand because of its clever no-skid base and the pump knob by which it operates. Pushing the pump down both makes the basket spin and pushes the whole unit down onto the counter. Better yet, the OXO has a lock to keep the pump knob in the down position, making storage a little easier.
