The Coffee Maker comes with an optional single-serve accessory to enhance the flavor of one-mug brewing: Add a filter to the accessory and then place it in the large basket to brew. Clean exterior regularly with a damp cloth and wipe dry. Hand wash carafe and lid with mild detergent after use. Rinse clean. Removable parts are all top-rack dishwasher safe (brew basket, single serve brew basket, coffee scoop, well cover, and Rainmaker). If you prefer your coffee hotter, we recommend using a double-walled insulated mug and preheating any milk or creamer you add to your coffee. Our team has done extensive testing and found that the greatest heat loss happens when coffee is poured from the carafe to the mug. While many coffee makers have a heating element under the carafe, this can sometimes result in a bitter, burned or condensed brew.
