Hot Chocolate Bar Toppings for a Holiday Party
Words Amalia SafranHot chocolate is the quintessential winter drink, so naturally we thought it would be fun to spice it up this holiday season.
We’ve put together tips for creating your own Hot Chocolate Bar at your next holiday party, complete with a variety of toppings and mix-ins. So invite some friends over, bust out your favorite hot cocoa mix, and become a real-life Pinterest board.
Tip: We suggest storing the cocoa powder and the toppings in POP Containers for a pretty, organized setup.
Caffeine Kick
Keep a carafe of cold brew concentrate on hand for those who want to add a kick of caffeine to their mugs. If a guest wants it heated up, reheat it on the stove or in the microwave for a few seconds.
Spike It
Turn the party up a notch for the adults by providing liquor for grown-up hot chocolate… A few different liquors work well here: Coffee-flavored liqueur, Irish Cream (or try making it yourself!), Peppermint Schnapps and Whiskey are all a great place to start.

Homemade Marshmallows
Marshmallows and hot chocolate are pretty standard, but what about upping the game and making them yourself? Here’s our recipe for making your own marshmallows for the occasion.
Candy Pieces
Crush a few peppermints and heath bars so your guests can add a pop of color and flavor to their drinks.
Chocolate Spoons
Dip spoons into melted chocolate, place on a tray and let the chocolate harden in the fridge. After an hour, dip the spoons into the chocolate again because who doesn’t love more chocolate? Once completely hardened, they’re ready to go and will make any hot cocoa even more chocolatey and delicious.
Hot Chocolate Art
For Mother’s Day we discovered how to use our Cookie Press Disks as stencils for latte art. This hack works wonders on hot cocoa too. Use the Dusting Wand to sprinkle cocoa powder over the disk and you’ll have yourself a snowflake.
