What is the difference between a cookie sheet and a jelly roll?

A sheet pan that has a continuous lip around all four sides is typically called a Jelly Roll Pan or Sheet Pan. A pan that has at least one flat side is called a cookie sheet; the flat side makes it easy to slide the baked product off the end.

What is the difference between dark and light colored pans?

Light baking pans reflect heat, while dark pans tend to absorb it, which can make a difference in your baking. Dark pans cook faster and are more likely to burn baked goods than light pans. If you opt to use dark pans, you would most likely need to reduce

I always see references to half sheet and quarter sheet pans. What does this mean?

What is the “stay-flat” feature on the Jelly Roll Pans (Half Sheet, Jelly Roll & Quarter Sheet)?

This small detail in the side walls of these pans help prevent and/or minimize the likelihood of the pans warping.

Does the OXO Pizza Pan have holes on its pan surface?

The OXO Non-stick Pizza Pan does not have holes but our micro-textured baking surface minimizes surface contact and promotes airflow for a consistent, even baking of the crust. It works well for frozen, homemade or reheating pizza.

What type of wood are my OXO wooden utensils made from?

OXO wooden utensils are made from solid one piece beech wood.

My wooden utensil is shedding, what do I do?

To remove natural shedding, simply rub a brown paper bag over the utensil, which will help remove the particles.

How do I condition my wooden utensils?

Your wooden utensils should be conditioned from time to time with a food grade mineral oil.

How often do I need to condition my wooden utensils?

This depends on how often they are used, however normally when they appear to be drying out completely.

What is food grade mineral oil and where can I find it?

Food grade mineral oil is used to treat wooden cutting boards and utensils. It is used to keep the wood from cracking and drying out. It can be purchased at some grocery stores, and specialty kitchen shops.

Can I use olive oil, regular mineral oil, etc.?

No. Olive or other vegetable oils will eventually turn rancid when exposed to air. Standard mineral oil may not be food grade.

Are my wooden utensils dishwasher safe?

All of our wooden utensils and tools are hand wash only.

What is the metal underneath the Silicone Flexible turner?

The silicone is bonded to flexible stainless steel.

Are my silicone tools dishwasher safe?

Yes, they are top rack dishwasher safe.

What temperature are my nylon utensils heat resistant up to?

OXO nylon utensils are heat resistant up to 400°F. However they should not be exposed to direct heat.

Are my nylon utensils dishwasher safe?

Yes, they are dishwasher safe.

Are my stainless steel cooking utensils dishwasher safe?

Yes. All of our stainless steel cooking utensils are dishwasher safe.

How do I clean the rust / white buildup from my kettle?

To remove rust and mineral deposits from inside the Tea Kettle and/or whistle, boil water for 30 minutes with 2 Tbsp of baking soda and 3 Tbsp of lemon juice. Rinse thoroughly and wipe with a clean, soft cloth. Depending on the severity, you may need to r

What heat setting should I use? Why shouldn’t I use high?

With all of our kettles, we suggest medium heat only, as higher than that can damage the whistle and other components. Do not use on a heating element larger than the bottom of the kettle and do not place kettle on heating element with the spout open. Alw

If I boil my kettle dry, what should I do?

If kettle is boiled dry, turn off burner and wait until kettle cools before handling it. Boiling dry may damage kettle. If this occurs, please contact Consumer Services.

What grade of stainless steel is my OXO kettle made of?

Our kettles are manufactured from 18/8 grade stainless steel.

What type of whistle do OXO kettles have?

All of our kettles feature a Hole Tone Whistle (non-harmonic).

How long do your travel mugs keep hot beverages hot?

Can I store my POP Containers in the refrigerator / freezer?

Yes, however when exposed to extreme temperature fluctuations the container lid may lift due to changes in air pressure.

The gasket in my POP Container smells like coffee/tea/etc….How can I remove the odor?

The gasket can be removed for cleaning, and either placed on the top rack of the dishwasher, or can also be cleaned with a baking soda paste to help remove odors.

Why do you recommend many of your products be washed in the top rack of the dishwasher?

Since many dishwashers have different heat/sanitizing cycles, we recommend top rack only.
